Job Title: Truck Driver

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Truck Driver to join our team at Southwood Trucking Ltd.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and driving straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transportation: Load and unload goods, operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee condition of vehicle, inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, perform brake adjustments, and perform emergency roadside repairs.
  • Documentation: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption, and receive and relay information to central dispatch.
  • Security and Safety: Ensure safety and security of cargo, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements:
  • Certifications: Air Brake (Z) Endorsement and Driver's License (Class 1 or A).
  • Language: English.
  • Work Conditions: Physically demanding, repetitive tasks, and sitting for extended periods.
  • Personal Suitability: Flexibility, judgement, organized, reliability, and team player.
