About the Opportunity
LRO Staffing is representing a reputable General Contracting Company seeking a Legal Counsel with expertise in major project contracts and collaborative contract models. As Legal Counsel, you will provide expert legal guidance and support, particularly in navigating major project contracts within the collaborative contract model.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide legal support for the company's business, including structuring, reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and enforcing commercial agreements, such as teaming agreements, project agreements, design-build agreements, and subcontract agreements.
- Offer legal advice on complex construction, development, and corporate matters, including Public-Private Partnerships (P3) Projects, Design Build Projects, and collaborative contracts.
- Work with functional and project pursuit teams and leaders to communicate and implement risk management tools and assess and manage project risks.
- Support the company's corporate structure and major project obligations to facilitate its growth trajectory.
About You
- You must be a licensed lawyer in Ontario and a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- You should have at least 5 years of post-call experience at a well-respected law firm or in-house construction legal department.
- You should possess superior written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and establish rapport and credibility with stakeholders.
- You should have sound judgment and legal reasoning, excellent analytical skills, and creativity in solving problems.
- You should be able to develop strategies to succeed, present a clear plan to the client, and communicate instructions rigorously and precisely.
