Role Summary

What is the opportunity?

The RBC Dominion Securities branch is looking for an Investment Advisory Associate to become part of a thriving Advisory Team. Your role will involve enhancing client relationships by providing insightful guidance and support to both clients and the Investment Advisor. Additionally, identifying and fostering new business opportunities will be essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize meetings and events for the Investment Advisor with clients and potential clients: assist in setting agendas and key discussion points, prepare necessary documentation, and manage follow-up tasks. Attend client meetings as needed.
  • Deliver proactive client service with a focus on problem resolution and meticulous attention to detail. Collaborate with various departments for execution when necessary.
  • Address client account inquiries and ensure accountability for follow-up actions as required.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of business strategies, client segmentation, and service plans.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities within the existing client base for asset consolidation and referrals.
  • Co-manage the client acquisition pipeline (prospects/leads); collaborate with the advisory team to secure new opportunities.
  • Strengthen existing relationships with Centers of Influence (COIs) through ongoing engagement.
  • Engage in trading and/or portfolio rebalancing activities.
  • Conduct continuous research on market trends and investment opportunities, providing regular updates to the advisory team.
  • Support the advisory team and clients throughout the Wealth Management process. Assist in gathering pertinent information, coordinating activities with Wealth Management specialists, tracking progress, and following up.

Qualifications for Success

Essential Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 to 4 years of professional experience in the investment sector.
  • Approval as a Registered Representative (RR) with IIROC.
  • Successful completion of the Wealth Management Essentials (WME) course or Investment Management Techniques (IMT).
  • A university degree.
  • A self-motivated individual with a growth-oriented mindset.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Highly developed client service capabilities.

The expected base salary range for this position is $38,000 - $55,000, depending on your experience, skills, registration status, market conditions, and business needs.
