Oncology Care Nurse (LPN)

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for medical evaluations by performing tasks such as escorting them to examination areas, recording vital statistics, assisting with clothing changes, and offering comfort measures.
- Set up examination rooms for patient consultations by ensuring all necessary instruments are clean and ready, stocking supplies, and preparing the environment for the next patient.
- Support medical staff during physical assessments by managing instruments and supplies, preparing specimens, and ensuring accurate documentation.
- Execute various nursing tasks, including catheterizations and wound care, by applying and changing dressings, monitoring vital signs, and documenting patient observations.
- Handle clerical responsibilities such as organizing appointment schedules, managing patient records, answering calls, and utilizing various software for documentation.
- Maintain medical instruments and equipment by ensuring cleanliness, functionality, and proper storage for future use.
- Assist patients with daily living activities by providing personal care, ensuring comfort, and supporting nutritional needs.
Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized Practical Nursing program or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
Skills and Attributes
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with patients and team members.
- Physical capability to perform job-related duties.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Proficiency in operating relevant medical equipment.
