Nurse Specialist

Care for patients with compassion and purpose as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in our Oncology Clinic. Collaborate with a dedicated team to provide exceptional care and support to those affected by cancer.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for examination by escorting them to the examining room and providing comfort measures.
- Prepare examining rooms for patient consultations and examinations by checking and laying out clean instruments and stocking rooms with required supplies.
- Assist nursing and medical staff with physical examinations by handing and receiving instruments and supplies, and receiving and preparing specimens.
- Perform a variety of nursing procedures such as catheterizations and sterile dressings, and record observations and report problems to designated staff.
- Maintain instruments and equipment by cleaning and storing them ready for next procedure.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living by providing personal care and comfort measures.
Requirements- Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to physically carry out the duties of the position.
- Awareness of and commitment to Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism principles.
