Job Title: Structural Metal and Platework Fabricator

We are seeking a skilled Structural Metal and Platework Fabricator to join our team at Avilion Metalcraft Ltd.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and assembling structural metal and platework components for various projects. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine materials required for projects
  • Interpret engineering drawings and instructions to plan methods and sequences of operation
  • Lay out reference points and patterns for metal fabrication
  • Plan the sequence of tasks to cut metal efficiently
  • Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine material requirements
  • Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures
  • Weld or bolt sections together
  • Set up and operate heavy-duty metal-working machines
  • Construct patterns and templates for metal fabrication
  • Install fabricated components in final products
  • Rig, hoist, and move materials to storage areas or within the worksite
Requirements:
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in metal fabrication
  • Forklift Operator Certification
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Valid driver's licence and own transportation
  • Willingness to travel
  • Physically demanding work environment
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Efficient interpersonal skills and team player
