Job Title: Registered Nurse

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Outpatient Mental Health team at Brightshores. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in implementing and monitoring services to meet the needs of individuals with significant mental health issues. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide a wide range of counselling, support, advocacy, and education services to clients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor services to meet the needs of individuals with significant mental health issues.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide a wide range of counselling, support, advocacy, and education services to clients and their families.
  • Travel throughout the catchment area to deliver programs and meet the needs of clients.
  • Manage a case management caseload and provide psycho/social and mental status assessments.
  • Administer and monitor medications, and provide education to clients and their families.
  • Communicate positively and professionally with family members, community providers, and physicians.
  • Work co-operatively in a multidisciplinary team setting and adhere to Brightshores' CARE Behaviours and LEAD Competencies.

Requirements:

  • Registration with the Ontario College of Nurses as a Registered Nurse.
  • CNA Certification in Psychiatry and Mental Health Nursing.
  • 5 years recent experience working with a similar population in an outpatient setting.
  • Current CPI training and CPR basic certification.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practice of the Recovery Model, current psychiatric medications, and psychosocial rehab model.
  • Ability to work all shifts, including weekends, and ability to work co-operatively in a multidisciplinary team setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing.
