CB Canada is seeking a skilled Electrician in the Industrial Equipment Supply Sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on electrical overhead cranes and hoists. A typical day includes:

  • Performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electric overhead traveling cranes and hoists at various customer sites as directed.
  • Conducting on-site troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, structural, and electronic systems to identify equipment malfunctions and determine necessary repairs using visual inspections and appropriate testing equipment.
  • Executing a comprehensive post-repair audit to ensure all safety features are operational, documenting any deficiencies, and attaching a deficiency tag when necessary.
  • Documenting findings and providing corrective recommendations during safety reviews, including issuing a written "Safety Notification" for any observed safety concerns.
  • Consulting with customers regarding repair and safety issues, discussing recommendations that enhance safety and productivity before concluding the visit.
  • Completing electronic documentation using established company digital tools for each service, ensuring customer acknowledgment and acceptance.
  • Understanding and applying relevant codes and regulations, including CSA, OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, and HMI.
  • Maintaining all company-issued equipment, vehicles, and assets in safe and proper working order.

Successful candidates will possess:

  • A valid Journeyman Industrial Electrician certification.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in electrical troubleshooting and mechanical repair; electronic experience is preferred but not mandatory. Experience with cranes is advantageous.
  • A good driving record and a valid driver's license.
  • The ability and willingness to work at heights and varied overtime as required, including being available for on-call duties and occasional travel.
  • The physical capability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs, lift up to 50 lbs daily, and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs. This role involves frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, and overhead reaching, with exposure to varying environmental conditions.
