We are seeking a highly skilled PET Technologist to join our team at BC Cancer, a leading cancer care provider in British Columbia. As a PET Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to patients undergoing PET/CT scans.
Key Responsibilities- Perform all aspects of clinical PET/CT scanning, including selecting the appropriate imaging protocol, positioning the patient, and presenting the final image data set to the PET physician for interpretation.
- Prepare patients for scanning procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and obtaining informed consent.
- Perform technical work, such as correlating clinical history with examination, taking vital signs, and administering radiotracers.
- Monitor patient safety during procedures and respond to emergent situations in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
- Operate PET and associated CT computers and equipment as needed.
- Certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) in Nuclear Medicine.
- Three (3) years of recent experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
- Completion of formal PET/CT education, such as the CAMRT PET/CT certificate program or equivalent training and experience.
