Unit Clerk, Molecular Imaging and Therapy Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Unit Clerk to join our team at BC Cancer in Victoria, BC.
About the Role:As a Unit Clerk, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Transcribing and processing clinician orders, ensuring timely and accurate completion of requisitions and scheduling of tests and services.
- Organizing diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients, coordinating appointments and communicating with patients and healthcare teams.
- Gathering patient information and preparing documents for clinical teams and patients.
- Providing receptionist duties, including greeting and registering patients, answering phone calls, and responding to inquiries.
- Participating in the onboarding and orientation of staff, supporting student clinical practicums, and maintaining a safe environment for patients, families, and staff.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk Program, plus one year's recent, related experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position, with the ability to keyboard and operate related equipment.
- Ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
