Position Overview:

The University of Toronto is seeking a qualified individual to join the Mississauga Academy of Medicine as a Clinical Research Educator. This role involves guiding second-year medical students through the Health Science Research (HSR) curriculum, which emphasizes the importance of research in enhancing health outcomes for diverse populations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate seven interactive sessions with small groups of students, focusing on the application of research methodologies.
  • Provide mentorship for students' practicum exercises, ensuring they develop a robust understanding of research protocols.
  • Conduct individual consultations to support students in their academic and research endeavors.
  • Evaluate student participation and performance in tutorial sessions, providing constructive feedback.

Teaching Methods:

  1. Online Modules: Deliver foundational knowledge through e-modules that prepare students for practical applications.
  2. Group Tutorials: Engage students in small group discussions to deepen their understanding of course material.
  3. Practicum Development: Guide students in creating research protocols that address significant health research questions.

Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D., MD, or MD/Ph.D. is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting research and teaching at the graduate level.
  • Strong knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Compensation: Salary will be commensurate with experience and in accordance with the collective agreement.
