Job Summary

Federated Co-operatives Limited is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Deli Clerk to join our team. As a Deli Clerk, you will play a key role in providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and assisting with inventory management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide information, assistance, and courteous service to customers in a manner that promotes the sale of merchandise.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain and display all types of meat products according to procedure, place orders for replenishment of inventory as required, and keep proper mark-down reports.
  • Store Maintenance: Follow Policy and Procedure for morning set up and evening closing, adjust minor complaints in keeping with general sales policy, and refer more serious complaints to the Department Manager.
  • Merchandise Preparation: Prepare, wrap, price, stock, and price check merchandise as assigned, unpack and check merchandise as assigned, and check code dates.
  • Safety and Sanitation: Observe safety measures and report hazardous conditions immediately to the Department Manager, perform general housekeeping and sanitation duties as per association standards.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate equipment necessary to prepare merchandise for sale, provide proper maintenance of equipment, monitor case temperature, clean equipment regularly, and notify supervisor in reference to repairs.
Requirements
  • Physical Demands: This is a physically demanding job and will involve frequent lifting up to 30 pounds.
  • Equipment Operation: Must have capability to operate the required equipment for the preparation, merchandising, and sale of Deli products.
  • Service Orientation: Must be strongly service-oriented and motivated, and capable of assisting customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Availability: Must be able to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
Qualifications

A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
