About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Advisor to join our dynamic team at Intact Financial Corporation.

As a key member of our legal department, you will provide expert legal advice and support on a wide range of insurance regulatory matters, including product development, market conduct, licensing, and marketing law.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to our business units, providing guidance on complex legal issues and developing innovative business solutions.
  • Provide legal support on day-to-day operational matters, including contract analysis and negotiation.
  • Collaborate with our Manager, Legal Affairs for Insurance, Regulatory and Marketing to develop and implement effective legal strategies.
  • Participate in national strategic projects, working closely with our Vice President of Legal Affairs.

Requirements:

  • Member of the Barreau du Québec in good standing.
  • 3 to 7 years of experience in commercial, corporate, and/or insurance law, preferably in a regulated industry.
  • Superior technical legal skills, with excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage files independently with minimal support and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Comfort with technology tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to assess practical implications of legal risks and think strategically.
  • Ability to build relationships with business units and stakeholders and influence decision-making at the operational and corporate level.
  • Bilingualism (French and English, both written and spoken) is required for candidates located in Quebec.
