Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Coordinator to join our team. As an HSE Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, subcontractors, and clients. You will be responsible for conducting health and safety orientations, performing site inspections, investigating incidents, and coordinating health and safety training sessions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct health and safety orientations for new employees and subcontractors
  • Perform site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Investigate incidents and handle related claims
  • Coordinate health and safety training sessions, including orientations, WHMIS, CPR/First Aid, and specialized training
  • Monitor employees and subcontractors to ensure adherence to safety procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Provide coaching and support to project managers, supervisors, and workers on HSE requirements
  • Develop, maintain, and improve HSE programs and processes
  • Provide monthly safety performance reports to management
  • Manage relationships with key clients and stakeholders to ensure alignment and engagement on HSE matters
Requirements:
  • 5-7 years of practical health and safety experience and on-site industrial expertise
  • Post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Knowledge of Ontario Certificate of Recognition (COR) is required
  • Valid Drivers License
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Auditor qualifications and experience
  • Knowledgeable in occupational health and safety legislation, along with the construction, industrial, and/or mining regulations
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance legislation and the general management of waste, water, air, chemicals, etc., related to the construction, industrial and/or mining operations
  • Knowledge of COR requirements, driver training programs, transportation sector
