Position Overview: Patient Care Aide
As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Patient Care Aide plays a crucial role in delivering compassionate support to patients. This position involves a range of responsibilities aimed at enhancing patient comfort and care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate patient transport and escort services within the facility and to various departments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and designated areas, ensuring all necessary supplies are readily available.
- Sterilize and uphold the functionality of medical instruments and equipment as instructed.
- Execute general service tasks, including the delivery of documents, answering calls, and assisting with clerical duties.
- Aid patients in changing into appropriate attire as needed.
- Communicate patient concerns and relevant information to the healthcare team promptly.
Qualifications:
- Completion of Grade 10.
- Graduation from an accredited Nursing Assistant Program or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent.
- Registration with the BC Care Aide Community Health Worker Registry.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals.
- Physical capability to perform the duties required by the role.
- Proficient typing skills and organizational abilities.
- Competence in operating relevant equipment.
