Position Overview: Patient Care Aide

As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Patient Care Aide plays a crucial role in delivering compassionate support to patients. This position involves a range of responsibilities aimed at enhancing patient comfort and care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate patient transport and escort services within the facility and to various departments.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and designated areas, ensuring all necessary supplies are readily available.
  • Sterilize and uphold the functionality of medical instruments and equipment as instructed.
  • Execute general service tasks, including the delivery of documents, answering calls, and assisting with clerical duties.
  • Aid patients in changing into appropriate attire as needed.
  • Communicate patient concerns and relevant information to the healthcare team promptly.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Grade 10.
  • Graduation from an accredited Nursing Assistant Program or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Registration with the BC Care Aide Community Health Worker Registry.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals.
  • Physical capability to perform the duties required by the role.
  • Proficient typing skills and organizational abilities.
  • Competence in operating relevant equipment.
