Job Title: Merchandising Operations Lead
Division: Merchandising
Reporting to: Director of Client Services
Salary Range: 60-65K
Location: Remote options available
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the logistics involved in launching new retail locations
- Develop, implement, and uphold retail operational guidelines and protocols
- Analyze retail profitability concerning operational expenditures
- Serve as the primary liaison for clients and various vendors throughout project phases
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve financial and operational targets
- Deliver on specific divisional business goals established at project initiation
- Gain comprehensive insights into clients' businesses and the competitive landscape
- Engage with clients on significant matters, ensuring positive and evolving relationships
- Navigate conflicts, foster discussions, and make challenging decisions
- Facilitate integration across the business by leading cross-divisional discussions and planning
- Provide direction and a clear vision to positively influence projects, teams, and clients
- Ensure all client deliverables are produced with the highest quality, on schedule and within budget
- Monitor the achievement of strategies across multiple ongoing projects
- Contribute to staffing plans and budget considerations
- Present superior operational insights
- Represent the agency at external events, including conferences and thought leadership initiatives
- Familiarize with agency resources and tools to enhance service offerings across divisions
- Manage and deliver several million in revenue and billings
- Engage in related project work, which may include:
- Merchandising (preferably in cosmetics)
- Retail partnerships (e.g., major retailers)
- Willingness to travel to support teams, clients, and projects as necessary
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in an agency setting, primarily in Retail Merchandising, with a preference for cosmetics merchandising and retail operations with large retailers
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English is essential
- Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role leading an operations/merchandising team, with experience managing a remote workforce
- Experience in daily client interactions
- Ability to formulate and execute action plans to achieve desired outcomes
- Proven track record of building strong, trusted relationships
- Demonstrated success in collaborating with cross-functional teams to yield positive results
- Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a dynamic environment
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Solution-oriented mindset, capable of advancing projects through potential obstacles and guiding stakeholders through each phase
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong industry knowledge, sound judgment, and excellent strategic planning capabilities
- Entrepreneurial mindset
- Robust financial management skills
- High standards of professionalism and ethical conduct
- Willingness to travel (20-40% of the time, depending on client needs and project demands)
