About the Opportunity

As a Rehabilitation Assistant with Nova Scotia Health Authority, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals, families, and groups to promote movement, occupation, and function. Working collaboratively with our team of therapists, you will be responsible for delivering interventions that have been assigned by therapists, ensuring the safe and proficient delivery of care. You will also be responsible for maintaining treatment and storage areas, checking and cleaning equipment, and ordering necessary supplies.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual who possesses the following qualifications:

  • Grade 12 or GED
  • Rehabilitation Assistant Program (including Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy components)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, families, and staff
  • Good interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with team members
  • Organizational ability to complete assigned work and manage changing staffing and caseload levels
  • Knowledge of proper body mechanics
  • Basic computer skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
  • Access to reliable transportation
Hours

This is a long assignment, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. The successful candidate will be required to work approximately 2 years, with the possibility of extension.

Compensation and Incentives

The hourly rate for this position is $22.84 - $26.86. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
