Position Overview

The role involves delivering nursing care to residents, including those with intricate and unpredictable health conditions. As a vital member of an interdisciplinary care team, you will collaborate with residents, families, medical professionals, and support staff to uphold the mission of quality resident care. This position requires a commitment to the vision, values, goals, and objectives of the facility. You will engage in ongoing assessment and evaluation processes, offering restorative, rehabilitative, and personal nursing care within a resident care unit. Responsibilities may include supervising other nurses, students, healthcare aides, and support staff in delivering resident care.

Experience
  • Preferred: Three (3) years of current clinical experience in gerontology.
  • Consideration will be given to a combination of education and experience, including recent student practicum.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing educational program.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Current registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM).

Physical Requirements

  • May encounter aggressive or agitated individuals.
  • Involves physical activities such as standing, transferring, and transporting residents and equipment.
  • Potential exposure to various health risks, including disease and bodily fluids.

This term position may conclude earlier as specified in your collective agreement.

This position necessitates a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
