Position Overview
Opportunity for Registered Nurse in Oncology
Vancouver Coastal Health is on the lookout for a qualified Oncology Nurse to join our dedicated team. This role is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic about delivering high-quality care to patients undergoing chemotherapy treatments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients receiving chemotherapy, with an emphasis on enhancing their quality of life.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to address the needs of patients and their families.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical practices and contribute to ongoing research efforts.
- Engage in hospital committees and collaborative teams as required.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Registered Nurse with certification from BCCNM.
- A minimum of two years of nursing experience is required.
- Oncology certification is essential.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of nursing principles and patient-centered care methodologies.
- Expertise in chemotherapy administration and medication management.
- Ability to lead and work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Excellent communication and educational skills.
- Current CPR certification and proficiency in oncology nursing practices.
