Construction Manager

Location: British Columbia

Pinchin is seeking a qualified Construction Manager to join our Construction & Project Management Services Group (CPM) in British Columbia. The selected individual will report directly to the Regional Manager for the BC Region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define the project scope and deliverables while providing insights on constructability.
  • Prepare comprehensive tender packages for bidding.
  • Engage in project meetings with contractors and consultants to ensure alignment.
  • Maintain communication with key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee project costs to ensure adherence to budget constraints.
  • Provide guidance on contracts and subcontracts, demonstrating an understanding of various contract types and strategies.
  • Manage the construction schedule and activities across multiple projects.
  • Deliver progress updates regarding costs and timelines as necessary.
  • Select and oversee relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Coordinate efforts among regulatory bodies, architects, designers, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Facilitate the permit application process efficiently.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of proposal submission documents.
  • Work closely with regulatory bodies and utility companies to ensure compliance.
  • Monitor and manage the contractor's safety program and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Provide onsite construction management to oversee subcontractor activities across various locations.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Building Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture, or equivalent experience.
  • Over 7 years of experience in project delivery within the construction sector, including pre-construction and contract closeout phases.
  • Experience in Demolition, Civil/Excavation, Retrofit, Restoration, and/or Tenant Improvement projects is preferred.
  • PMP designation or equivalent credentials are advantageous.
  • Ability to interpret construction documents and drawings competently.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
  • Strong understanding of construction, engineering, and architectural principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to budget, schedule, negotiate, and manage costs effectively.
  • Exemplary leadership and management capabilities.
