About the RoleThis is a unique opportunity to provide mental health support to serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces. As a Psychiatrist, you will be part of a collaborative shared-care model, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and treat a variety of mental health conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Provide psychiatric consultation services to Canadian Armed Forces personnel
- Assess and diagnose mental health conditions, developing treatment plans and implementing psychotherapy and somatic therapy as needed
- Prepare detailed written psychiatric assessment reports and participate in case reviews
- Collaborate with primary care providers to identify, diagnose, and treat patients with mental health disorders
- Participate in the implementation of treatment plans and generate patient medical records
- Licensed and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
- Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada in Psychiatry (FRCPC)
- Experience working with mental health patients, with an emphasis on depression, anxiety, and trauma disorders
