Providence Health Care is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Leader/Nurse Educator to join our team in the Operating Room.
About the Role
The Clinical Nurse Leader/Nurse Educator will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Operating Room and supervising staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a clinical resource to nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members in the provision of direct care to patients.
- Assist in the promotion of research and quality improvement initiatives within the program.
- Provide visible, accessible clinical support to the nursing staff as an education resource for staff in the clinical areas.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs for nursing staff and patients/families.
- Perform direct nursing care as required.
Requirements
- Registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as a practicing RN registrant.
- Three years of recent related experience in the Operating Room, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to coach and supervise.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures appropriate for the area of service.
- Ability to identify learning needs and develop educational programs.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of adult education principles.
- Ability to teach and lead groups.
- Ability to deal with and promote change.
Vaccination Requirement
As per the current Public Health Orders, all employees working for Providence Health Care must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
