Job Title: Clinical Nurse Leader/Nurse Educator, Operating Room

Providence Health Care is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Leader/Nurse Educator to join our team in the Operating Room at St. Paul's Hospital.

Job Summary:

The Clinical Nurse Leader/Nurse Educator, Operating Room will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the OR and supervising staff. This role will act as a clinical resource to nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members, assist in the promotion of research and quality improvement initiatives, and develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs for nursing staff and patients/families.

Responsibilities:
  • Acts as a clinical resource to nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members in the provision of direct care to patients.
  • Assists in the promotion of research and quality improvement initiatives within the program.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates educational programs for nursing staff and patients/families.
  • Performs direct nursing care as required.
Requirements:
  • Registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as a practicing RN registrant.
  • Three years of recent related experience in the Operating Room, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to coach and supervise.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures appropriate for the area of service.
  • Ability to identify learning needs and develop educational programs.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of adult education principles.
  • Ability to teach and lead groups.
  • Ability to deal with and promote change.
