Role Summary:
The Event Security Supervisor will oversee uniformed security personnel at various high-profile corporate venues. This role involves supporting the Team Lead and Security Services management with various responsibilities and assignments. The Supervisor will also conduct proactive patrols and respond to incidents across multiple facilities, ensuring safety and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that security personnel assigned to the city possess the necessary skills and qualifications for their roles.
- Verify that all security staff are licensed, have completed required training, and are in appropriate uniform.
- Coordinate and assess site-specific training for contract security personnel.
- Conduct random evaluations of security staff to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
- Respond to significant incidents, ensuring that security personnel document their observations and actions accurately.
- Review incident reports for clarity and accuracy.
- Initiate disciplinary measures when necessary.
- Prepare daily briefs for Security Services Management and relevant personnel.
- Utilize electronic guard tour software to complete patrols.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned by the organization.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years of experience as a Security Guard in a municipal or corporate setting is preferred.
- At least one year of supervisory experience is advantageous.
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field is an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with excellent customer service abilities.
- Possession of a valid Security License for Ontario.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification is required.
- A valid G Class License with a clean driving record is necessary.
- Physical requirements include extensive walking, standing, and exposure to various weather conditions.
- Proficiency in using two-way radios and computer applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are essential; bilingual candidates are preferred.
- Willingness to engage in professional development and meet on-site training requirements.
- Flexibility in shift availability is crucial, as security operations run 24/7.
- Previous experience in loss prevention or security is preferred.
- Completion of all required site training within 30 days of hire is mandatory.
- Successful completion of CPO certification within the first six months, with training costs covered by the organization.
