Ecommerce Search Data Analyst Position at The Home Depot

Position Overview:
The Ecommerce Search Data Analyst plays a crucial role in evaluating data pertaining to online retail and search functionalities, aiming to enhance the discoverability experience for users and stakeholders. Reporting to the Search Product team, this position entails scrutinizing extensive data sets and generating insights that align with significant business goals, strategic decision-making, problem resolution, statistical analysis, and opportunity recognition.
The successful candidate will collaborate with Product, Merchandising, and various teams to deliver insights that support overarching business objectives. Key responsibilities include conducting in-depth analyses of large data sets, addressing discoverability challenges, proactively spotting opportunities, responding to stakeholder inquiries, and evaluating the importance and effects of various issues. The individual will also partner with other teams to implement solutions and assess their impacts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Data Analysis:
    Investigate and interpret customer discoverability data to evaluate search performance and user interactions with search functionalities.
  2. Proactively identify opportunities and challenges while monitoring evolving customer behavior data trends.
  3. Transform large data sets into actionable business insights utilizing SQL and similar analytical tools for informed decision-making.
  4. Conduct thorough examinations of substantial data sets, including product information, facet data, and related business metrics to assess current effectiveness and identify opportunities.
  5. Proactively analyze customer behavior, feedback, and long-term user activity data to pinpoint actionable items.
  6. Reporting:
    Develop and disseminate reports on search performance, emphasizing key insights and unexpected findings.
  7. Collaborate with teams such as Analytics and Data Science to create new reporting and analytical tools as necessary.
  8. Team Support:
    Serve as an internal global resource for on-site search optimization for Product, Merchandising, and related teams.
  9. Assist non-search stakeholders in addressing business challenges related to discoverability.
  10. Support the Product team with analyses of search data to inform decision-making for projects and new features.
  11. Evaluate solutions to identified discoverability issues in collaboration with the broader Search team.
  12. Help business teams assess the significance and implications of identified discoverability challenges and opportunities.
  13. Evaluate the potential impact and risks associated with creating new tuning rules, such as synonyms and redirects.
  14. Collaborate with other teams to implement solutions beyond the Product workflow, such as product or data enhancements that can improve discoverability.
  15. Work effectively with the wider team.
  16. Project Management:
    Document insights and new analytical processes as they are developed.
  17. Assist in testing new solutions as required.
  18. Manage operational tasks with a focus on automation where feasible.

Hybrid Work:
This position offers remote work options, with occasional travel required for team collaboration and meetings.
