Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Laboratory Technician to join our team at Magnum Cementing Services. As a key member of our technical services department, you will be responsible for overseeing and directing laboratory operations, ensuring the highest quality standards are met, and providing technical expertise to support our cementing services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Laboratory Operations: Oversee the day-to-day and monthly laboratory requirements, ensuring all experiments, tests, and analyses are conducted in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and delegate to a team of laboratory technicians, providing technical knowledge and instruction as needed.
  • Quality Control: Conduct quality control checks of laboratory technician work, ensuring all results and reports meet the highest standards.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Enforce and maintain all HSE requirements, ensuring a high standard of housekeeping and a safe working environment.
  • Communication: Work closely with the Technical Laboratory Manager to ensure clear and concise communication across the laboratory department.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise to support our cementing services, including the development and implementation of new products and technologies.
  • Training and Development: Participate in the training and development of Magnum technical and operations staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
Requirements
  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years previous laboratory experience in a research and development laboratory environment, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Skills: Demonstrated ability to direct and motivate the work of others, ability to prioritize multiple projects and adapt to changing work demands, and a high level of professional conduct and customer service orientation.
