Job Details
We are seeking a highly skilled Manager, Assurance and Accounting to join our Indigenous Services team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the planning, scheduling, and execution of audits, compliance tax engagements, budgeting, internal controls, and financial/accounting transactions with Indigenous communities and enterprises.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality audit and assurance services to clients through client interactions, reports, technical work, management presentations, and deliverables.
- Manage a portfolio of clients, understanding their business, key risks, and ways to deliver added value, ensuring client needs are met and relationships and accounts grow and develop.
- Maintain quality control, using specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify, and address issues relevant to the client's business, financial entries, and reports.
- Create connections within the Indigenous community, developing business development opportunities and preparing compelling proposals to meet client needs.
- Mentor, motivate, and inspire team members towards professional and personal growth through clear guidance, constructive feedback, and impactful performance reviews.
- Maintain flexibility to travel to engage with clients in-person.
Requirements
- CPA designation
- 4 to 6 years of relevant public accounting experience
- Experience working with Indigenous communities or enterprises an asset
- Strong understanding of business, accounting, management, and practice development principles
- Proven people management, relationship building, and leadership skills
