Position Overview: The Healthcare Recruitment Coordinator plays a vital role in collaborating with various teams within Alberta Health Services (AHS) to align healthcare objectives with effective physician recruitment strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with North Zone and Provincial Medical Affairs teams, facility leaders, and external partners to assess recruitment needs.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Physician Workforce Plan that aligns with AHS strategic initiatives and local health strategies.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with Medical Affairs leadership and community Medical Directors regarding recruitment efforts.
  • Gather and organize essential documentation for physician candidates, including credentials and references.
  • Coordinate site visits and virtual interviews for prospective physicians.
  • Prepare necessary documentation for Human Resource Development and immigration processes.
  • Manage inquiries from international physicians interested in relocating to Canada.
  • Represent Medical Affairs in media interactions as needed.
  • Travel within the North Zone to foster relationships with stakeholders.
  • Oversee special projects related to Medical Affairs as required.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient understanding of AHS systems and recruitment processes.
  • Previous experience in recruitment or medical affairs is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage projects with varying levels of complexity and resource requirements.
  • Familiarity with immigration legislation and recruitment policies.
  • Competence in office software applications for correspondence and stakeholder communication.

Compensation: AHS offers a competitive salary along with a Remote Retention Allowance of up to $3,000 annually, which is non-pensionable and paid hourly based on the basic rate.
