Role Overview

The Technical Solutions Architect plays a pivotal role in designing and implementing intricate, tailored solutions for large enterprises and governmental bodies. This position requires close collaboration with clients to ascertain their unique needs and objectives, subsequently developing integrated solutions utilizing Rogers' comprehensive suite of products and services. The Architect works in tandem with Account Executives and various teams to identify business challenges, articulate value propositions, and ensure effective solution deployment. They are instrumental in driving revenue growth by achieving or surpassing established sales targets while cultivating positive customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-sales technical consultancy to sales teams
    • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations
    • Analyze and comprehend customer requirements
    • Design and architect solutions
    • Collaborate with internal teams
    • Assist with project cost and resource estimation
    • Provide technical diagrams and documentation
  • Engage with key decision-makers (CIO to IT staff) of current & potential clients
    • Understand customer business objectives
    • Build trust-based relationships and act as a trusted advisor
    • Participate in technology assessments
    • Collaborate on strategic roadmaps and planning
    • Address technical concerns and objections
  • Develop differentiated technical solutions
    • Create customized solutions and designs
    • Evaluate and select suitable technologies
    • Provide technical guidance
  • Conduct customer-facing meetings and proposal development
    • Conduct approximately 5-10 meetings per month
    • Participate in discovery sessions and proposal presentations
    • Develop proposals in collaboration with Account Executives
  • Advance solution specifications internally for product fulfillment
  • Maintain comprehensive product knowledge

In-depth understanding of the global telecommunications landscape

Familiarity with: Layer 1 (Optical, HFC, WDM), Layer 2 & 3 (Switching, STP, VLAN, MPLS, Carrier Ethernet, etc.), Wireless technologies (Wi-Fi, Mobile), VoIP and telephony systems (Contact Center, MSFT Teams)

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information science, or networking is preferred. Relevant certifications such as CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), Fortinet, or Microsoft Certified are advantageous.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in solution architecture for sales or related roles
  • Strong technical background in enterprise IT infrastructure, cloud computing, and networking
  • Proficiency in architectural frameworks and methodologies
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Knowledge of security best practices and data integration
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Working Conditions

  • Travel to customer offices may be required
  • Ability to work from Rogers offices 3 days per week
