Job Title: Rehabilitative Care Worker

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Rehabilitative Care Worker to join our team at The Meadows ARC in Bridgetown, NS. As a key member of our care team, you will provide high-quality care and support to residents with intellectual disabilities and/or long-term mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support residents in learning skills necessary for independence, such as cooking and cleaning.
  • Facilitate resident decision-making and choices, promoting autonomy and dignity.
  • Provide personal care, including assistance with toileting, mobility, and transfers.
  • Assist with meal preparation and serving, ensuring residents' dietary needs are met.
  • Encourage participation in recreational and leisure activities, promoting socialization and engagement.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident care, condition, and progress.
  • Participate in team meetings and in-service education programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Successful completion of a Human Services Residential/Vocational program or meets the Provincial training and qualifications standard.
  • Recent related job experience preferred.
Special Knowledge and Skills:
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with residents with intellectual disabilities and/or long-term mental health challenges.
  • Empathy and understanding towards residents.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
