We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Rehabilitative Care Worker to join our team at The Meadows ARC in Bridgetown, NS. As a key member of our care team, you will provide high-quality care and support to residents with intellectual disabilities and/or long-term mental health challenges.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist residents with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support residents in learning skills necessary for independence, such as cooking and cleaning.
- Facilitate resident decision-making and choices, promoting autonomy and dignity.
- Provide personal care, including assistance with toileting, mobility, and transfers.
- Assist with meal preparation and serving, ensuring residents' dietary needs are met.
- Encourage participation in recreational and leisure activities, promoting socialization and engagement.
- Maintain accurate records of resident care, condition, and progress.
- Participate in team meetings and in-service education programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- High School Diploma or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Successful completion of a Human Services Residential/Vocational program or meets the Provincial training and qualifications standard.
- Recent related job experience preferred.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with residents with intellectual disabilities and/or long-term mental health challenges.
- Empathy and understanding towards residents.
- Good judgment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
