We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced District French Immersion Curriculum Facilitator to join our team at School District No. 40 (New Westminster). As a key member of our curriculum team, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and implementation of high-quality French Immersion programs across our district.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing district-level and direct classroom support to educators in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices. This will include:
- Supporting competency development in the teaching of the French language and culture
- Providing resources and guidance on curriculum planning, assessment, and reporting
- Facilitating professional learning opportunities for staff
- Coordinating French socio-cultural activities, performances, and events
- Leading the French Advisory Committee and associated tasks
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A valid BC Teachers Certificate
- Member of the Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch
- Qualified/experienced in French Immersion
- Fully bilingual, with native-like fluency in French and English
- Undergraduate degree in French Immersion and methodology coursework in teaching French as a second language
- Extensive and successful teaching experience in a variety of classroom settings
