We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team at Northside Industries. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily production activities, managing a dedicated team, and ensuring that our high standards of quality and safety are maintained.
Key Responsibilities- Manage production/delivery schedules effectively to meet customer delivery expectations.
- Define equipment operations and safe work procedures, and assign new employees to experienced workers for training.
- Provide ongoing technical direction, coaching, and development of employees.
- Participate in production and process improvement reviews.
- Monitor and assess employee performance and skills.
- Engage in direct performance management conversations, including progressive discipline if needed, with input from the Production Manager.
- Suggest process improvements to enhance production and quality.
- Resolve worker problems, complaints, and grievances.
- Relay production updates from the floor to appropriate team members to provide customer open order updates.
- Support production directives, such as specialty projects and activities.
- Read and interpret blueprints and welding process specifications.
- Hands-on execution of objectives and training of employees through demonstration if needed.
- Minimum 3 years in a supervisory, management, or leadership role, with 1 to 5 years of progressive experience in sheet metal fabrication techniques and processes.
- CWB welding certification.
- First Aid skills and/or certificates (considered assets).
- Direct working knowledge of processes and machinery used in metal fabrication.
- Excellent time and project management skills.
- Commitment to quality and safety standards.
