About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Bakery Team Member to join our team at Cobs Bread. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of breads, pastries, and other sweet and savory goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Baking: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Inventory Management: Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed to maintain a well-stocked bakery.
  • Staff Training and Supervision: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, and supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff to ensure high-quality products.
  • Quality Control: Inspect kitchen and food service areas to ensure that the quality of products meets established standards.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service and ensure that customers receive high-quality products and a welcoming experience.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Support for Persons with Disabilities: Provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for persons with disabilities.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees.
  • Support for Youths: Provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
  • Support for Visible Minorities: Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for members of visible minorities.
Work Environment

This is a permanent, full-time position with a variable schedule of 30-40 hours per week. The work language is English.
