Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Operator for our Fort McMurray TRD. This position involves a shift schedule of 14 days on and 14 days off, with 12-hour shifts alternating between day and night. The Fort McMurray TRD is located approximately 25km south of Anzac, AB, where shared accommodations are provided. Candidates must arrange their own transportation to and from Anzac and the TRD.
Key Responsibilities
The Operator will be accountable for the daily safe and customer-focused operations related to waste treatment, oil treatment, and water injection. The role requires constant interaction with clients, necessitating exceptional communication skills and a strong commitment to customer service. The Operator must be self-motivated and eager to learn about the fundamental processes of the plant. Given the safety-sensitive nature of this position, candidates must be mentally and physically fit to perform their duties effectively.
Essential Duties
The Operator's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring compliance with safety protocols, including SOPs, SWP permitting, and timely entry of Hazard Assessments.
- Overseeing truck unloading operations and maintaining documentation for oil emulsion and water & vac trucks.
- Managing ongoing water injection processes, filter changes, and pump maintenance.
- Conducting boiler operations, testing, and steam system management.
- Performing routine daily, weekly, and monthly checks of the plant.
- Carrying out general cleaning tasks throughout the shift.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A High School Diploma, General Education Diploma, or equivalent.
- Preference for candidates with 4th or 5th class power engineering certification.
- A valid driver's license and successful completion of pre-employment testing.
- Current safety certifications, including H2S Alive, First Aid Level One C, Confined Space Entry, WHMIS, and TDG.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work long hours in a demanding environment.
- Proven capability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated excellence in customer service.
