Job Description

Marche Mon Pitou is seeking a skilled Kitchen Assistant to join our team in Vancouver. This is a dynamic role that involves baking, packaging, dishwashing, and overall kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Food Preparation: Prepare, bake, and cook menu items as directed.
  • Bakery Operations: Proof and execute morning bake-off for fresh pastries.
  • Assembly and Packaging: Assemble sandwiches for daily sales and prepare meals and meal kits (vacuum seal, labeling, packaging).
  • Station Setup and Maintenance: Set up station before or after service and assist with catering orders.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes, including deep clean duties, and assist with dish washing.
  • Quality Control: Follow recipes and presentation specifications and prepare products for the retail program.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Availability: Commit to a 6 am start when needed (mandatory, non-negotiable) and flexible start/end time is an asset.
  • Work Experience: 1 year Pastry and baking experience is an asset, 2 years of Prep cook experience, and Line Cook experience is an asset.
  • Certifications: FoodSafe level 1 certification (mandatory, non-negotiable).
  • Personal Qualities: Attentive to detail and quality while multitasking, reliable, punctual, and independent, collaborative, dependable, and self-motivated.
  • Work Permit: Holds a work permit in Canada.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination: Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
