Job Title: Direct Service Worker

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Direct Service Worker to join our team at Southeast Child Family Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing protection and prevention services to children and families in our designated First Nations community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing protection and prevention services to children and families in our designated First Nations community.
  • Managing caseloads specific to Family Protection and Children-In-Care with prescribed timelines.
  • Intervening in crisis situations in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Establishing and maintaining partnerships with community resources for clients and team members.
  • Participating in Agency events, training, and working flexible hours as required.
  • Group facilitation, team building, and decision-making.
  • Excellent case and file management skills, stress management, time management, and documentation detail.
  • Working in a team-based environment and independent responsibilities.
  • Traveling to designated First Nations communities and rural areas as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in front-line case management with Children-in-Care and families.
  • Experience conducting investigations, gathering and analyzing information, and implementing appropriate action.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Indigenous culture, the Child and Family Services Act, and crisis intervention.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and valid driver's license.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record, Child Abuse Registry, and Prior Contact Check.
