Location: Remote
Pinchin is on the lookout for individuals with a solid foundation in architectural and engineering principles to become part of our Building Science team.
The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of building systems, including architectural elements such as structural components, building enclosures, mechanical and electrical systems, roofing solutions, and interior features.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Building and Property Condition Assessments for due diligence and capital planning in line with ASTM standards and best practices.
- Conduct assessments of existing structures, including roof assemblies and exterior cladding, to evaluate design and remediation options.
- Execute invasive assessments and testing, such as roof cut tests and leak detection.
- Carry out quantity take-offs and measurements throughout project phases.
- Develop designs and specifications for restoration initiatives.
- Oversee construction reviews to ensure compliance with quality standards and design specifications.
- Compile detailed reports summarizing field data and create comprehensive AutoCAD drawings.
- Manage financial aspects and coordination of projects.
- Uphold QA/QC protocols and ensure adherence to health and safety standards.
- Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or related fields.
- Experience with Building Condition Assessments as per ASTM guidelines is essential.
- Familiarity with asset management software is advantageous.
- Prior experience in building construction or maintenance is preferred.
- Understanding of HVAC systems and building envelope assemblies is beneficial.
- Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code is mandatory.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, and reports.
- Experience in writing technical documentation is preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is a plus.
- Capability to safely transport tools and equipment is required.
- Willingness to travel and possess a valid driver's license is necessary.
