Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Police Call Taker - Emergency Response. As a key member of our emergency services team, you will be responsible for receiving and processing emergency calls, providing critical information to dispatchers, and working collaboratively with law enforcement agencies to ensure public safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and process emergency calls in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Provide critical information to dispatchers to facilitate effective response to emergencies
  • Work collaboratively with law enforcement agencies to ensure public safety
  • Meet or exceed performance standards for call handling, typing speed, and accuracy
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Fluent in English, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to type a minimum of 44 WPM during a 5-minute typing test
  • Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident residing in Canada for a minimum of 3 of the last 5 years
  • Able to work full-time during a 6-month training period with minimal or no vacation time
  • Successful completion of a Vancouver Police Department (VPD) interview
