Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2 days remote)

Role Summary: This position involves supporting projects related to a centralized telecommunications system. The system is constructed using advanced server technology and interfaces with various communication platforms. It serves multiple locations and is utilized by specialized personnel, including operators and agents. The complexity of the system allows for diverse user endpoints, including digital and analog phones, VoIP solutions, and video conferencing facilities. Ongoing initiatives aim to upgrade and migrate existing systems to the latest technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teams and vendors to gather requirements and develop design documentation.
  • Engage with regional IT staff to clarify installation needs for remote locations and provide support for specific tasks.
  • Conduct site assessments to identify prerequisites for system migrations.
  • Identify necessary materials for installations and assist in their procurement and delivery.
  • Develop test plans and reports for hardware and software systems, ensuring thorough testing and integration.
  • Provide on-site support for installation, testing, and commissioning of new telecommunications hardware.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering or Diploma in Technology.
  • Experience in hardware, software, and systems testing.
  • Background in systems integration.
  • On-site installation and commissioning experience.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance for sensitive sites and travel as required.
  • Familiarity with hardware material selection, including networking components.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and a collaborative team player.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Experience in telecommunications systems or network architecture is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of electrical generation facilities is a plus.
  • Experience working with labor unions is beneficial.
