Your RoleAs a Field Operations Technician, you will collaborate closely with the Soils and Materials Team.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Implementing and advocating for Englobe's health and safety protocols;
- Delivering exceptional client service while thriving in a collaborative team setting;
- Conducting on-site evaluations of soil compaction, asphalt compaction, and concrete characteristics;
- Performing inspections, including rebar assessments and proof-rolling;
- Compiling field reports that detail equipment utilized, test sites, and findings;
- Participating in regular team meetings, which may occur outside of standard hours;
- Assisting with laboratory analyses as required;
- Supporting equipment calibration and maintenance tasks as needed;
- Undertaking additional responsibilities as directed by your supervisor.
- Technical Diploma in a discipline related to Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering;
- Over 2 years of experience in highway materials, construction materials sampling, testing, and inspection, along with relevant association registration;
- CCIL or ACI certification is considered an asset;
- Familiarity with OPSS specifications concerning concrete, asphalt, and soil compaction;
- Knowledge of soil identification using the Unified Soil Classification System;
- Capability to regularly handle samples weighing up to 25kg;
- Possession of a valid Ontario G Driver's License (driver abstract will be requested);
- Access to a personal vehicle in good working condition;
- Demonstrated commitment to occupational health and safety.
