Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Gas Fitter to join our team at Comox Fireplace and Patio. The ideal candidate will possess a Registered Apprenticeship certificate and have a solid background in gas fitting with 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.

Work Environment
  • Conditions: The role involves working in dangerous environments, including confined spaces. A non-smoking atmosphere is maintained.
  • Locations: Work will be conducted at various residential sites.
Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency gas escape calls promptly.
  • Install and maintain gas heating systems and their components.
  • Service and repair gas heating units and related equipment.
  • Install and manage gas meters, regulators, and gas lines.
  • Prepare detailed tenders and quotations for services.
  • Provide expert advice to clients on safety standards and maintenance of gas systems.
  • Analyze technical drawings and specifications to plan installations.
  • Estimate project costs and required materials accurately.
  • Conduct tests and replace defective components as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Willingness to relocate may be required.
  • Proximity to the work location is preferred.
  • Previous experience in gas fitting is essential.
  • Possession of the required certifications is mandatory.
  • Completion of the highest level of education is required.
