Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical nursing services within a recovery model of care, working across services with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Assess and address the physical, psychological, social, spiritual, and cultural needs of individuals, providing holistic care and support.
  • Administer medications and provide clinical supervision, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
  • Engage with individuals and families, promoting collaboration and empowerment in service planning, delivery, and evaluation.
Requirements
  • Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN or RPN registrant.
  • Experience in residential services, preferably in mental health.
  • RPN/RN with extensive experience and proven organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Five (5) years recent Mental Health experience.
  • Current registration in professional association.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working within a community setting with adults with a mental illness.
  • Ability to assess situations and diffuse crisis incidents.
  • Ability to complete nursing assessment of individuals with psychiatric disorders.
  • Knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation.
  • Knowledge of importance of relationship building, motivational and activation techniques.
  • Computer skills.
  • Good written and verbal reporting skills.
  • Good organization, time and general management skills.
  • Class IV Driver's License and own transportation.
  • Current criminal record check.
  • Full understanding of the Community Care Facilities Act.
