Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Jay Patry Enterprises LLC. This is a permanent position that requires a commitment to quality craftsmanship and safety.

QualificationsEducation
  • Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
Experience
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in carpentry is preferred.
Work Environment
  • Work may involve heights, confined spaces, and exposure to noisy and dusty conditions.
  • Job settings include construction sites and residential projects.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare labor and material cost estimates.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to ascertain work requirements.
  • Develop layouts in compliance with building codes using appropriate measuring tools.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials including wood and lightweight steel.
  • Prepare tenders and quotations for projects.
  • Construct foundations, install floor beams, and erect walls and roofing systems.
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware.
  • Coordinate and schedule work on job sites.
  • Instruct and supervise apprentices and other workers.
  • Estimate costs and materials for projects.
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and commercial wooden structures.
Supervision
  • Responsible for supervising 1 to 2 individuals.
Certifications
  • Completion of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) training.
  • Training for working at heights is required.
Equipment Proficiency
  • Experience with hand tools is essential.
Transportation
  • Public transportation options are available.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to bend, crouch, and kneel.
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking is necessary.
  • Must be able to handle heavy loads and work under tight deadlines.
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision.
Tools and Equipment
  • Must provide own tools and safety equipment, including steel-toed boots, hard hats, safety glasses, and vests.
