Job Description

The Business Schools Association of Canada (BSAC) is seeking a visionary and dynamic Academic Leader to serve as the Dean of our esteemed Business School. As a key member of our senior leadership team, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving the strategic development and growth of our Business School, fostering strong relationships with corporate partners, community groups, and alumni, and promoting the school's regional, national, and international profile.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan to drive the growth and success of the Business School, aligning with the University's overall mission and goals.
  • Faculty and Staff Management: Lead and manage a team of faculty and staff to ensure the continued improvement and development of our portfolio of programs and services, promoting inclusion, innovation, and student success.
  • Financial Management: Oversee the financial performance of the Business School, ensuring effective budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation.
  • Fundraising and Development: Develop and implement a fundraising strategy to secure resources and support for the Business School, fostering strong relationships with corporate partners, alumni, and other stakeholders.
  • External Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including corporate partners, community groups, government officials, and alumni, to promote the Business School's regional, national, and international profile.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. or Equivalent Terminal Degree: A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in business or a related discipline is required, with a distinguished record of scholarly achievement that merits appointment as a full professor in one of our academic areas.
  • Leadership Experience: A proven track record of effective academic leadership and administration in a university setting, with experience in developing and implementing strategic plans, managing faculty and staff, and overseeing financial and fundraising efforts.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, alumni, and external partners.
  • Business Acumen: Strong business acumen, with experience in financial management, fundraising, and strategic planning, and a proven track record of driving business growth and success.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Developing Equitable and Inclusive Partnerships: Experience in developing equitable and inclusive partnerships with diverse communities, industry, government, and other institutions, with a commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Proven Track Record of Fundraising: A proven track record of fundraising, with experience in developing and implementing successful fundraising campaigns and securing significant resources and support for the Business School.
  • Strong Vision for Business Education: A strong vision for the future of business education and research, with the ability to articulate a compelling vision that inspires faculty and staff and promotes the Business School's strengths in integrating research and teaching.
