Baker Tilly Canada is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounting Technician to join our team in Cold Lake. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for providing intermediate-level accounting, tax advisory, and consulting services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute intermediate-level compilation engagements, including preparation of financial statements and applicable tax filings and WCB returns.
  • Prepare intermediate-level personal income tax returns and related schedules.
  • Respond to client inquiries and concerns, providing timely and accurate solutions.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their financial needs and providing value-added services.
  • Analyze client circumstances and provide insightful support for financial decision-making or planning.
  • Review internally prepared bookkeeping files, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage time, budgets, work in progress, and billings, maintaining a high level of productivity.
  • Improve technical skills through ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the team to optimize internal processes and improve efficiency.
  • Train and mentor Junior Accounting Technicians, sharing knowledge and expertise.
Requirements
  • Completion of a post-secondary certificate or diploma in accounting.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in public accounting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think creatively to resolve client issues.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft 365, CaseWare, TaxPrep, QBO, Xero, and other relevant software.
