Automotive Service Technician

Job Requirements:
  • **Education:** A secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
  • **Experience:** A minimum of 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the automotive industry is necessary.
Work Environment:
  • **Work Conditions:** The work environment is fast-paced and requires attention to detail. Steel-toed safety boots are a must.
Job Tasks:
  • **Inspect and Test:** Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions.
  • **Repair and Maintenance:** Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems, and repair or replace mechanical units or components.
  • **Quality Control:** Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications.
  • **Estimation and Scheduling:** Estimate parts and labour cost to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs, and perform scheduled maintenance service.
  • **Customer Service:** Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements, and provide customer service.
  • **Reporting:** Complete reports to record problems and work performed.

  • **Electrical and Electronic Systems:** Electrical and electronic system diagnosis and repair.

  • **Brake System:** Brake system repair and maintenance.
  • **Fuel and Emission System:** Fuel and emission system diagnosis and repair.
  • **Ignition and Electrical System:** Ignition and electrical system diagnosis and repair.
  • **Automatic Transmission:** Automatic transmission repair and maintenance.
  • **Standard Transmission:** Standard transmission repair and maintenance.
  • **Imported Vehicles:** Repair and maintenance of imported vehicles.
  • **Front End Components:** Front end component repair and maintenance.
  • **HVAC System:** Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system diagnosis and repair.
