Job Title: Senior Process Systems Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Systems Engineer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing design solutions and assessments for new, updated, and modified process systems, structures, and components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide design solutions and assessments for process systems, structures, and components.
  • Lead teams on assigned tasks, ensuring adherence to project delivery requirements and schedule.
  • Perform design/analysis of hydraulic and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to engineers at lower grade levels and/or other technical employees.
  • Support Engineering Management with timely updates on engineering progress.
  • Ensure adherence to company quality program.
  • Prepare and/or review design documents for Nuclear Power Plants.
  • Prepare and/or review Engineering Quotation Request and Tender Technical Evaluations.
  • Perform walkdowns, attend site visits, and meetings as required.
  • Ensure applicable code, standards, and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Provide support for the preparation of Engineering proposals.
  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders as required.

Requirements

  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
  • Engineering degree from an accredited University in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or Engineering Science.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in process-system design/analysis, preferably providing design solutions for CANDU nuclear power plants or BWR/PWR markets.
  • Experience performing work to nuclear power plants procedures and practices and qualifications for nuclear power plants engineering activities is an asset.
  • Strong technical knowledge of all aspects encompassing CANDU nuclear processes, analyses, equipment, and control.
  • Experience performing heat balance and thermalhydraulic evaluations.
  • Experience in process system design and layout.
  • Knowledge of analytical tools used for mechanical and process design.
  • Working knowledge of/experience using nuclear Codes and Standards.
  • Working knowledge of/experience with the CSA B51 standard, ASME B31.1 codes, and other nuclear-power-plant applicable standards or regulatory guides.
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Site experience in construction, or commissioning of plant mechanical systems for nuclear or other heavy industries is an asset.
  • Eligible for Security Clearance through Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC).
