About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Procurement Specialist to join our team at Irving Shipbuilding. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for supporting internal stakeholders with the procurement of materials and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies to manage spend and deliver value to the business.
  • Perform full life cycle supplier management activities, including pre-qualification, supplier engagement, negotiations, and performance management.
  • Develop and execute Requests for Information and Request for Proposal, managing these sourcing events to meet cost management and scheduling expectations.
  • Perform full suite contract management activities, including contract preparation, executive briefings, negotiations, and post-award contract administration.
  • Fulfill Purchase Order management requirements, including invoice review and attestation.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline or three years of relevant experience in lieu of education.
  • Comprehensive depth and breadth of end-to-end procurement knowledge achieved through significant on-the-job work experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Shipbuilding, Aerospace/Defence, Heavy Manufacturing, or Construction industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize large amounts of information with high attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office suite.
