Purpose of the Role:The Senior Wealth Planning Specialist role focuses on managing our internal Staff Accounts portfolio. This position allows you to utilize your investment, financial, and insurance planning expertise to offer the best financial guidance to our most valuable asset: our employees. You will provide this comprehensive advice confidentially, building trust with your colleagues while enhancing your skills in preparation for a future as a Wealth Advisor.
This is a full-time, permanent position based in our Vancouver office, with a flexible and hybrid work policy requiring in-office attendance three days a week.
Core Responsibilities:- Lead proactive engagement with new and existing clients (employees) through needs-based assessments, delivering clear and tailored financial and investment planning advice.
- Prepare detailed, ongoing, and customized analysis and client meeting materials, including:
- Investment portfolio design
- Risk management strategies
- Retirement income planning
- Estate planning
- Cash flow management
- Capital needs assessment
- Tax optimization
- Provide exceptional client service by staying attuned to the evolving needs and circumstances of clients, maintaining their trust as a reliable advisor.
- Cultivate client confidence and loyalty.
- Ensure all client information and regulatory compliance are current and accurate.
- Develop and present financial literacy resources and events.
- Generate leads and prospects.
- Undertake other relevant responsibilities as assigned based on organizational needs.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a client-facing role within a wealth management firm, with direct exposure to investment, financial, and insurance planning.
- Must meet registration qualifications and have obtained:
- CIM or CFA Level 1; AND
- Life License Qualification Program (LLQP)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with superior interpersonal abilities.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with numerical data.
- Keen attention to detail and observant nature.
- An entrepreneurial mindset complemented by strong teamwork skills.
- Creative problem-solving abilities and a talent for developing innovative client solutions.
- Capability to simplify complex information and concepts for clients.
- A commitment to excellence and integrity.
- 2+ years of experience at Nicola Wealth (for internal candidates only)
- Completion of the CFP or QAFP designation within the first year in the role.

This position offers a competitive base salary range of $78,000-$108,000, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity.
