Full Charge Bookkeeper Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our team at CB Canada. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining our accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare depreciation schedules by tracking fixed assets
  • Handle processing tasks for accounts payable and accounts receivable, including collections
  • Filing documents to maintain historical records
  • Complete bank and general ledger reconciliations; process payroll
  • Manage accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
  • Ensure correct and punctual monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
  • Prepare the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement
  • Study and implement federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and communicating with management on needed actions
Requirements:
  • Prior experience with Excel, QuickBooks, and Peachtree
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Wide-ranging experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Well-founded grasp of Journal Entry
  • Bank reconciliations experience preferred
  • Accounts Payable (AP) experience required
  • Complete Expense Reports experience
  • Quality experience with Financial Statement
  • Proven knowledge of Canadian Payroll
  • General familiarity with Journal Entry Preparation
  • Deltek experience
  • Practical knowledge of general ledger
  • Strong familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • High school diploma or equivalent, AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred
  • Knowledgeable of accrual and cash basis of accounting
  • Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner
  • Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible, and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
  • Experience with payroll preferred
  • Be creative, adaptive, and eager to learn new technical skill sets
  • 5+ years of experience in the bookkeeping field
  • Be able to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment
